We’re pleased to confirm the continued expansion of our AW139 helicopter fleet, following a formal contract signing at the European Rotors Show in Cologne on 19 November. The agreement, made in partnership with Leonardo Helicopters, confirms the purchase of two additional AW139 aircraft – increasing our total AW139 fleet to six. This development underlines the aircraft’s central role in supporting our specialist helicopter training and logistics services.
The new AW139 helicopters are scheduled to enter service in early 2027 and will strengthen our operational capacity to serve both existing and future customers, including the German Navy (Bundesmarine) and the Royal Navy. The AW139 is a proven and highly capable platform, ideally suited to the complex and demanding requirements of military and civilian search and rescue (SAR) operations, maritime training, and logistical support.
As an established AW139 operator, we have built a reputation for delivering world-class training and support services both in the UK and internationally. This fleet expansion reinforces our long-term commitment to operational excellence and continued growth. Speaking at the European Rotors Show, CEO Steve Gladston met with senior representatives from Leonardo Helicopters to mark the announcement and discuss future collaboration.
HeliOperations look forward to integrating the new aircraft into our training programmes and continuing to work closely with Leonardo as a key strategic partner.
