Most people think SAR (search and rescue), distinctive orange helicopters or quality training facilities when they hear the name “HeliOperations”. However, this winter we introduced something slightly different to our Heliport on Portland.
A drive-through clinic was set up at HeliOperations to deliver this year’s flu vaccine to a staggering 1800 people! It was deemed a safer way to administer the vaccinations, taking into account the coronavirus pandemic and social distancing.
Those who had booked their 2020 flu jab entered via the HeliOperations car park and followed the signs, awaiting their turn. This year’s vaccine was administered by qualified NHS staff wearing full PPE (personal protective equipment) whilst patients remained in their cars.
These are certainly testing times for many of us, but by thinking outside of the box and working together, we can all get through this winter. It was really good to see so many people receiving the flu jab in a single day. As a company that prides itself on both safety and support, it was an honour to help…
