Last month HeliOperations carried out an Emergency Planning Exercise at our Portland facility. With the support of the local Dorset Fire Service we simulated an aircraft incident on the airfield to rehearse procedures to ensure we maintain and improve our skills and procedures. Fire crews from both Portland and Weymouth stations attended. The simulated incident included a broad range of activity including fire fighting, personnel rescue, environmental protection and communications. The exercise proved extremely valuable for both HeliOperations and the Fire Service improving our ability to respond collectively in the unlikely event of a real incident.
