Heli Ops Presents to RMI Yacht Advisory Group

Posted: 18th November, 2015

This week Steve Gladston (CEO) and Jon Llewellyn (Helidecks Manager) were invited to give a presentation to the Republic of the Marshall Islands Maritime Registry Yacht advisory Group (YAG) in Amsterdam, as the Registries Aviation Inspection Body (AIB-Yachts). The Presentation, “Standards and Certification” delivered an overview of the Aviation Standards framework that we use, our Certification process and proposed a fresh approach to the link between Aviation regulations and the Registry policy on Yachts engaged in trade(YET). The presentation was very well received by the delegates with lots of questions and there was a collective interest in moving forward to produce a coherent and proportionate policy and explore the range of possibilities for the use of non-commercial helicopters on vessels that are engaged in trade. Safety and Compliance are at the forefront of Heli Operations mission statement and we are looking forward to driving this proposal forward and adding a further reason why we consider the Marshall Islands Yacht Registry the most progressive and pragmatic of all and we are proud to be their AIB.
